Mahendra Singh Dhoni was recently seen driving a Mercedes-AMG G 63 SUV. The former Indian cricket captain is known to have a luxurious car and motorcycle collection and the latest to join his garage is the G 63. The iconic old-school Mercedes SUV has a long list of celebrity fans including cricketers like Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer.
Take a closer look at Dhoni’s G-Wagon and you’ll notice it sports a VVIP registration number plate 0007. Like Cristiano Ronaldo, Dhoni also wears jersey number 7.
In February this year, Mercedes-Benz India increased the price of the G 63 by Rs 75 lakh. Hence, the AMG G-Wagon costs Rs 3.30 crore, ex-showroom. The bookings were only on an invitation basis for exclusive Mercedes-Benz customers. As the Indian market was given priority for the G 63, the waiting period for the SUV has come down to 12 to 16 months.
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is powered by a 577bhp 4-litre V8 twin-turbo engine that has 850Nm of torque and is mated to 9-speed torque converter.
Dhoni’s exotic car collection
Dhoni is a die-hard fan of hardcore off-roaders and his garage includes a fully restored legendary Nissan Jonga, Hummer H2 and Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk. The cricketer also owns a couple of retro American muscle cars like the Ford Mustang 1970 and Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The Chennai Super Kings skipper is also a proud owner of Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II.
