GST rates impact on cars: Car discounts in June 2017, big discounts on small cars in India

Before the GST (Goods & Services Tax) rolls in from 1st July 2017, various car manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, Tata Motors, Ford and Volkswagen are giving discounts on many of their models. In most cases, these discounts are being offered by car dealers in the form of cash discounts, exchange bonuses and free insurance on some models. Luxury cars are set to benefit most from the implementation of GST and manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and Jaguar Land Rover have already reduced the prices of their cars.Here we have compiled the list of discounts based at the dealership level and they may vary from dealer to dealer, depending on the city.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki dealerships is giving discounts on Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift, Wagon R, Celerio and Ertiga. The discounts range between from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000. There is no exchange bonus on Baleno, Ignis and S-Cross, Ciaz and recently launched Dzire.

Hyundai

Hyundai dealerships are offering discounts on its models Eon, 2017 Grand i10, Xcent, Elite i20 and Verna that ranges between Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000. The company is not offering any cash bonus and exchange bonus on the Santa Fe and Creta.

Honda

Honda dealerships is giving discounts on cars like Brio, Amaze, Jazz and BRV but there are no discounts on WRV and 2017 Honda City.The dealership is giving exchange bonus and cash discount ranging between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000

Tata Motors

Tata Motors dealerships are giving discounts on its various models including the Bolt and Zest, ranging between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000. The newly launched Tigor and Tiago are presently not being offered with any discounts.

Ford 

Ford dealerships are giving discounts on Figo, Aspire and EcoSport cash discount of Rs 10,000 and exchange bonus of Rs 15,000.

Volkswagen

Volkswagen dealerships are offering discounts on Polo, Ameo and Vento, ranging between Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000. There is no discount on newly launched Tiguan.
