April kick starts a new financial year, and with it, automobile manufacturers are gearing up to launch new vehicles. From budget-friendly options to luxury vehicles, this month is set to bring some notable launches, including the 2025 Kia Carens and a Dark Edition coupe SUV. Here are the key launches to watch out for.
Volkswagen Tiguan R Line

Volkswagen will launch the Tiguan R Line on April 14 and will be its flagship model. The sport version of the SUV will be a completely built-up unit (CBU) and will be priced in the region of Rs 50 lakh. It will be powered by a 2-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that delivers 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG) transmission. The SUV gets a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.3-inch digital cockpit.Â
Kia Carens

Kia is going to launch the Carens facelift version, but the current generation will continue to be sold beside the new model. The MPV is expected to sport an all-new front facia that could be inspired by the Syros. The 2024 Carens could sport a raised bonnet with vertically stacked LED DRLs and headlights and connected LED tail lamps. Kia will be sprucing up with the cabin and features inspired by the Seltos like a panoramic sunroof, twin digital displays — one for the infotainment and the other as the instrument cluster – infotainment system and instrument console, Level 2 ADAS, front ventilated seats, etc. The MPV will continue to offer three engine options — a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel.
Skoda Kodiaq

The Kodiaq will be Skoda’s flagship model and is powered by the same turbo petrol engine as the Tiguan. The 2-litre produces 201 bhp 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG) transmission. In terms of design, the 2025 Kodiaq gets a new front fascia with a new sculpted front bumper, new outside rearview mirrors, new alloy wheels and new LED tail lamps. It will be equipped with a 13-inch infotainment system and an all-digital instrument cluster.
Citroen Basalt Dark Edition

The latest to join the Dark Edition bandwagon is the Citroen Basalt. Citroen recently released a teaser of the Basalt Dark Edition. Being a dark edition vehicle, the Citroen coupe SUV’s parts and components are all blacked out like the skid plates and alloy wheels. Being a special edition SUV, the Basalt Black Edition could only be available with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol with an output of 109 bhp and 205 Nm with an option of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter.
