People do anything to get noticed on social media these days, and when it involves automobiles, things can go wrong at most times. The latest incident from Bhadreshwar of Kutch is a good example, as two Mahindra Thars got beached in the sea while trying stunts for social media.
According to witnesses and reports, youngsters driving two Mahindra Thatrs attempted to shoot a video by driving into the sea when Mother Nature had different plans. The two off-roaders were quickly stranded and after a long struggle, were rescued with the help of local people.
Nobody knows what exactly the youngsters had in mind, but the sea is not a place to try stunts, no matter how capable an off-roader is. The water current can shift the sand in the bottom, quickly burring the tyres and other components of the vehicle that will render them useless.
The Mahindra Thar is a capable off-roader and driving on sand takes a lot of skill and technique. It’s not about shifting into 4WD and driving off. Sand is a loose surface and any sudden change in speed can bury the tyres and in the water, this makes it even more difficult.
Luckily, no one was injured or hurt, apart from the egos of the youngsters who did get a video for social media, but just not what they had in mind.
