2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire Launch highlights: Prices start at Rs 6.79 lakh, to rival Honda Amaze

Maruti is expected to start deliveries of the new second-gen Dzire later this month. Deliveries of the same are currently underway at all Maruti Arena showrooms across the country at a token amount of Rs 11,000.

Maruti Suzuki will continue to produce the third-gen Dzire for the foreseeable future but here’s the catch. It will exclusively be available for fleet and cab operators only. Meanwhile, the fourth-gen Dzire will only be available for sale to private consumers.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire will rival other sub-4 metre sedans like Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze. Interestingly, Honda Amaze will also receive a generation upgrade which is slated to launch on December 4. Read more about the new-gen Honda Amaze.

Maruti Dzire Rs 6.79 – Rs 10.14 lakh

Hyundai Aura Rs 6.49 lakh – Rs 9.05 lakh

Tata Tigor Rs 6 lakh – Rs 9.40 lakh

Honda Amaze Rs 7.06 lakh — Rs 9.66 lakh

The biggest update in the new Maruti Dzire is definitely the new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine which made its debut with the new-gen Swift earlier in May this year. This motor develops 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. It’s available with a five-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT option. ACNG version of the same motor will also be available with detuned output.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has made history by becoming the first Maruti vehicle to achieve a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP safety tests. The report emphasizes the car‘s strong structure and well-protected passenger compartment. The new Dzire is packed with safety features, including 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts for all occupants, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Assist, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and more.

The new Maruti Dzire will continue to be underpinned by the Heartect platform, hence, there won’t be any significant change in dimensions. The sedan measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,735 mm wide, 1,525 mm in height, which makes it 10 mm taller than the previous generation Dzire, and a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The ground clearance stands at 163 mm, while it gets a spacious boot of 382 mm.

The new-gen Dzire created history as it became the first ever Maruti Suzuki to be awarded a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP. The compact sedan scored a five-star rating for adult and a four-star rating child occupancy safety.
