Jeep will be launching the updated iteration of the Wrangler in India in a few days. Now, the iconic American brand has announced that it will also introduce a facelifted version of Meridian in India later this year. The company has reportedly started testing for the updated Meridian on Indian roads.
First launched in 2022, Jeep has provided small updates to the Meridian including added features and new variants over the course of its existence. This upcoming facelift will be the first notable update to the premium 3-row SUV. It is difficult to predict the exact changes on the forthcoming iteration of Meridian at this point of time.
2024 Jeep Meridian: Expected exterior, interior updates
We expect Jeep to offer Meridian subtle exterior updates such as reprofiled front and rear bumpers, tweaked headlights, and maybe new alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the Meridian is expected to wear new upholstery with a new colour scheme. The overall cabin layout will remain the same.

In terms of features, the 2024 Meridian is expected to boast of a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will run on Jeep’s updated user interface. Other notable features include dual-zone climate control, ventilated and powered front seats, a digital instrument panel, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, air purifier, etc. The biggest update will be the addition of Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
2024 Jeep Meridian: Expected powertrain
Powering the 2024 Jeep Meridian will be the same 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine which puts out 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with either a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic gearbox. It also comes equipped with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain 4×4 terrain management system.

The Brazil-spec Meridian, called Commander, also gets a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 185 horses. Rumours suggest that this petrol motor could also be added to the India-spec Meridian in the facelifted iteration.
2024 Jeep Meridian: Expected price, rivals
We expect the updated Meridian to be priced between Rs 35 to 40 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch it will rival the likes of premium SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq.
Jeep Meridian | Toyota Fortuner | MG Gloster | Skoda Kodiaq |
Rs 35 – 40 lakh (expected) | Rs 33.43 to 51.44 lakh | Rs 38.80 to 43.87 lakh | Rs 38.50 to 39.99 lakh |
