Tata Motors has finally launched the facelifted Harrier and Safari in India after both SUVs were officially unveiled last week. Both SUVs receive comprehensive feature and cosmetic upgrades over their respective predecessors. Bookings for the updated iterations of both mid-size SUVs started on October 6 at a token price of Rs 25,000.
2023 Tata Harrier, Safari prices
Introductory prices for the new Tata Harrier starts at Rs 15.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 24.49 lakh for the regular variants. On the other hand, introductory prices for the new Tata Safari start at Rs 16.19 lakh and go up to Rs 25.49 lakh for the standard variants. Both SUVs are offered with Dark Edition variants as well.

Prices for the Harrier Dark Edition range starts at Rs 19.99 lakh, whereas the Safari Dark Edition range can now be had at prices starting from Rs 20.69 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom).
2023 Tata Harrier, Safari: Exterior design
Both facelifted Harrier and Safari sport sleek-looking connected LED DRLs running between the front grille and the bonnet. The vertically stacked split headlights are placed below the new stretched front grille and above the aggressively designed front bumper. While Harrier gets all-black skid plates, Safari comes with silver-coloured ones.

The SUVs will now sport 19-inch alloy wheels and welcome and goodbye features on both the headlights and the tail lamps. The Harrier and the Safari also now get connected rear LED lights.

Cabin interiors of Harrier and Safari have also seen a significant overhaul with a lot of design elements carried over from the Tata Curvv concept. The SUVs gets a fancy new twin-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, replacing the old steering wheel. The dash has also been redesigned, along with the central air vents that blend into the design well.
Latest iterations of the SUVs get touch controls replacing the physical buttons and soft-touch materials on the dash along with colour inserts. The infotainment system is a 12.3-inch unit compared to the 10.25-inch unit in the older vehicle and the instrument console is a fully-digital unit that is customisable.

In their new avatars, Harrier and Safari offer segment leading features with voice-assisted dual-zone climate control, over 50 connected car features with iRA 2.0, over 250 voice commands, emergency and breakdown call assist, and Alexa car to home connectivity among others.
Safety packages on both Harrier and Safari consist of seven airbags, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, front and rear parking sensors, Electronic Stability Program and much more. The top-spec trims offer ADAS features including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function (AT only), Autonomous Emergency Braking – Including Pedestrian & Cycle, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, etc.
2023 Tata Harrier, Safari: Engine specs
The Harrier and Safari continue to be powered by the 2-litre diesel that develops 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Both the SUVs offer three drive modes — Eco, City and Sport and three traction control commands — Normal, Rough and Wet.
