The two-wheeler segment was hugely benefited by the festive season which boosted sales figures for the month of October. A total of 18,95,799 units were dispatched across the country last month, as compared to selling 15,78,383 units in October 2022, registering a YoY growth of 20.1 percent.
A big chunk of these numbers are attributed to the motorcycle segment. Let us have a look at the top 5 motorcycles sold across the country in October 2023.

- Hero Splendor
Splendor continues to rule the Indian motorcycle market. The entry-level commuter from Hero MotoCorp registered a total volume of 3,11,031 units in October which resulted in a YoY growth of almost 19% and a small MoM decline of -2.71%. Hero retails two models under the Splendor lineup– the 100cc Splendor Plus and the 125cc Splendor Plus.

- Honda Shine
The second place was taken by Honda Shine which raked in a volume of 1,63,587 units in October, around half of what Splendor registered. Shine recorded a YoY growth of 25% and a marginal 1.26% MoM growth. Like Splendor, Shine is sold in two derivatives– 100cc and 125cc.

- Bajaj Pulsar
Bajaj Auto sold 1,61,572 units of Pulsar in October this year. The sporty commuter motorcycle range registered a YoY growth of 42% and a MoM growth of 34.50%. The Chakan-based bikemaker sells multiple iterations of Pulsar ranging from 125c to 250cc– the latest launch being Pulsar N150.

- Hero HF Deluxe
Another Hero in this lineup is HF Deluxe which recorded a monthly sales volume of 1,17,719 units in October this year. The 100cc commuter registered YoY and MoM growths of 51% and 40%, respectively. It is one of the most affordable bikes on sale in the country with ex-showroom prices starting under Rs 60,000.

- Bajaj Platina
Bajaj Platina took the fifth spot with a total monthly volume of 74,539 units which translated to 29% YoY growth and 53% MoM growth. Platina is available with two engine choices– 100cc and 125cc.
