Royal Enfield has given the Scram a major upgrade with a bigger, more powerful engine, along with new features and hardware. While it doesn’t inherit the Himalayan’s 450cc liquid-cooled engine, it still packs quite a punch. In this showdown, the Scram 440 takes on Hero MotoCorp’s flagship, the Maverick 440. We’re throwing the gloves off to see which bike lands the knockout punch in this epic battle.
Royal Enfield Scram 440 vs Hero Mavrick 440: Engine Specifications
The Royal Enfield Scram 440 now boasts a 443cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Royal Enfield claims this results in a 4.5 per cent increase in power and a 6.5 per cent boost in peak torque compared to the Scram 411. The 3mm increase in bore size enhances low-end torque, offering a more responsive initial acceleration. Additionally, the Scram 440 now comes equipped with a new 6-speed gearbox, replacing the previous 5-speed unit, and features a lighter clutch for improved performance.
The Hero Maverick 440 also gets a 440cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, but it delivers an output of 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch.
