Hero’s Niranjan Gupta steps down, Vikram Kasbekar takes over as CEO

Hero MotoCorp has announced that its CEO, Niranjan Gupta has resigned and the Executive Director for Operations, Vikram Kasbekar will be the acting CEO.

Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler maker, has announced that its CEO, Niranjan Gupta, has stepped down from his position. Gupta has resigned to pursue other opportunities, and Vikram Kasbekar has been appointed as the acting CEO of the company. Gupta’s last working day with Hero MotoCorp will be April 30, 2025.

In a statement, Gupta said, “During my eight years at Hero, I have had the opportunity to work with an exceptional team and contribute to the company’s continued success. As I move on to pursue other opportunities, I extend my best wishes to the entire team at Hero MotoCorp for an optimistic and progressive future.”

Hero MotoCorp: Management rejigs

Hero has seen a rejig with its management in recent times, such as the promotion of Ashutosh Varma, from being the National Sales Head to becoming the Chief Business Officer, and Jyoti Singh, Head HR – R&D, whose role will be extended to Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer from Feb 1.

Another major rejig is with Ram Kuppuswamy, who is currently the company’s Chief Procurement Officer. His new role in the company will include him being the Chief Operations Officer for manufacturing from April 1. He will also oversee plant and quality functions.
