The CNG revolution will reach new heights when Bajaj will launch the country’s first CNG-powered two-wheeler. Recently, Bajaj Auto CEO, confirmed that the company will launch the CNG bike this year. We expect the upcoming CNG motorcycle to hit the market around June this year.

Test mules of the Bajaj CNG motorcycle have been spied on multiple occasions. It was again spotted recently on roads in a fully camouflaged avatar. From the spy shots, it can be assumed that the upcoming CNG bike will flaunt a very distinct design. The most distinct feature is its muscular fuel tank.

The bike gets a round headlamp which is nestled within a comprehensive bezel. Other visual highlights include a single-piece seat, an upswept exhaust muffler, a short rear fender, a rear tyre hugger, a single-piece pillion grab rail and LED turn indicators. A few other details visible are a compact engine guard, belly pan, alloy wheels, a small front cowl, and a braced handlebar with handguards.

Bajaj CNG bike: Expected engine specs

The latest spy shots reveal the motorcycle gets a sloper-like engine to keep the heat away from the tank. The engine displacement is expected to be within 100-125cc range. On closer inspection, one can see that the front disc brake misses out on ABS ring which means the engine is definitely below 125cc displacement.

The motor is likely to support a bi-fuel system which means it can run either in petrol or CNG. Given CNG is less power dense in comparison to petrol, this motor is expected to develop a slightly lower output than the corresponding pure electric engine. Moreover, the CNG tank will be located below the seat, whereas the petrol tank sits in its usual position.

Bajaj CNG bike: Expected name, price

Some reports indicate that Bajaj might name its bike Bruzer. The company already has a trademarked the same but it is yet to be seen what shape the bike will take when it is launched in a few months time. As for pricing, we expect Bajaj to price it at a premium over all its sub-125cc models currently on sale, possibly around Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom).
