ArcelorMittal and other companies will convey their pro-people policies and assure to adhere to the rehabilitation and resttlement policy at the Jharkhand Trade Fair starting Saturday.

”The big industrial houses will convey their basic thinking that they have signed memoranda of understanding with the Jharkhand government to promote the state and its people,” the Jharkhand Trade Fair chairman Vinod Podar said in Ranchi.

Besides AreclorMittal, Tata Steel, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Calcutta Electric Supply, Essar Steel, Essel Mining, Rungta Mines, Usha Martin and Hindalco are some of the 30 major private and public sectors are participating in the 10-day trade fair to mark Jharkhand’s foundation day on Wednesday.

”All these companies will hold seminars to place their aim and objectives. They will highlight their vision on how to shape the future of the people of Jharkhand … Land acquisition will be done only through strict adherence to the R&R policy,” Podar said.

ArcelorMittal, which has selected sites in Khunti and Gumla districts for its Rs 40000 crore 12 mt steel plant, will sponsor the ‘Run for Development of Jharkhand’ slated to be held on November 23 while Tata Steel is sponsoring cultural programmes, he said.

”Despite the global economic downturn we expect business of approxminately Rs 5 crore during the 10-day fair, which will involce an expenditure of Rs 2.5 crore,” he added.
