The duo then unleashed an onslaught on the GT bowlers, including Rashid Khan. Ultimately, Swapnil Singh sealed the victory with a massive six, marking RCB’s third consecutive win in this IPL season.

Faf Du Plessis’ rapid half-century off 18 balls, with Kohli providing solid support, suggested that RCB would easily chase down the target of 148. However, in true IPL fashion, the match dynamics swiftly shifted in favor of the visitors, courtesy of Gujarat‘s bowlers. RCB’s formidable start crumbled, and they found themselves at 134/6. Despite a challenging start in the powerplay, Gujarat Titans relied on their middle order to boost the total. Contributions from M Shahrukh Khan, David Miller, and Rahul Tewatia, each scoring over 30 runs, propelled GT to a three-digit score. However, RCB’s tight bowling prevented GT from gaining momentum in the death overs. Apart from Karn Sharma, RCB’s bowling attack maintained strong economy rates. Ultimately, RCB restricted GT to 147 all out at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Virat Kohli‘s brilliant fielding claims the fifth wicket of Gujarat Titans. A direct hit at non-striker end ends Sharukh Khan’s innings. His 37 off 24 is the highest that any GT batter made tonight so far.

David Miller showcased his form tonight with three boundaries and two maximums, appearing poised for a substantial innings. Karn Sharma’s dropped catch in the 11th over granted Miller another opportunity. However, in the following over, Sharma made amends by dismissing Miller.

It’s not unprecedented for a team to lose that many wickets in the early overs. In this season, the Titans are struggling to find consistency in their performance. Their inability to string together consecutive victories is definitely holding them back. With only eight points from 10 games and occupying the eighth position, they’ll need to step up their game quickly if they want to climb up the ladder and secure a spot in the playoffs.

At this point, they’re technically still in contention, but their chances are pretty slim given their current position at the bottom of the points table. RCB need to win most, if not all, of their remaining matches to have a shot at qualifying for the playoffs. Even then, they’d likely need other results to go their way. It’s a tough situation, but in sports, anything can happen until the math says otherwise.

He also spoke about the acute water shortage and said that the beautiful rain is needed right now for the city that has been parched.
