KKR vs LSG Match 67 Live Score Card: Kolkata Knight Riders began their chase on a fiery note. Within powerplay, they had reached half-century in no time. Both Jason Holder and Venkatesh Iyer looked unstoppable. It was Gowtham who got the breakthrough wicket of Iyer for LSG. From that point on, KKR kept losing wicket on regular interval. Jason Holder, skipper Nitish Rana, Gurbaz and Russell have been sent back to dugout. LSG are dominating the game with KKR under pressure. A lot was expected of Rinku Singh and he certainly delivered. His unbeaten knock of 67 off 33 balls kept KKR in the hunt.
But in the end, his valiant efforts couldn’t help KKR to beat LSG. They fell short of just 1 run and this means that LSG are well into the playoffs.
Earlier in the evening, Lucknow Super Giants were asked to bat first after host Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. The idea must have been to restrict the visitors and KKR’s ace bowling attack did the job till Pooran arrived on the scene. Til then, LSG were struggling to find a momentum and even as target of 150 looked like a distant dream. It was the crucial partnership between Pooran and Ayush Badoni that changed the game and put LSG back on the track. For KKR, Sunil Narine, Shardul Thakur and Vaibhav Arora took two wickets each. Varun Chakravarthy, Harshit Rana took 1 wicket each.
It was a must-win match for Lucknow. For KKR, it was a tough chase. However, despite loss of wickets in middle overs, Rinku Singh kept it going and it was his big shots that made it a close match.
