RR vs SRH, IPL 2023 Live Score: It was a snooze fest and it looked the game was in pocket of Rajasthan Royals from the word go. They batted in amazing form, and we saw some super innings by Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson. In the end, they put an imposing total of 214 on the board. Sunrisers began their chase in most cautious manner and it looked so much of a snooze fest. the flamboyance of the Royals batting was missing. The pressure got to SRH batters, and they kept just rotating the strike with some boundaries thrown in between. Towards the end, Yuzi Chahal had already taken four wickets and demolished whatever batting was left of ‘orange army’. Nobody in their wildest dreams could have thought that SRH with their key batters back to dugout would be successfully chase the 41 runs in last two overs!
The moment Aiden Markram departed for paltry 6 runs, it seemed that all hopes were lost for SRH. In came Glenn Phillips and ruined the part for Royals. He smashed 25 off seven deliveries and brought SRH back in the game. Soon, Hetmyer took the brilliant catch and removed his threat. Now 17 were needed off last over. Sanju Samson put his trust in Sandeep Sharma once again. The man who defended 21 against none other than MS Dhoni at Chepauk had to defend 17 in Jaipur today. On second ball, Abdul Samad hit a maximum and kept SRH alive. On last ball, SRH needed 5 runs. Sharma bowled the last delivery and there was a wicket and RR players started celebrating. There was a twist in tale. The last ball was declared no-ball and the umpire asked everyone to be back on the pitch! Now, SRH needed four off last ball. Samad come forward and smashes a six and SRH did the unthinkable! This is IPL for you
Earlier in the evening, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and skipper Sanju Samson decided to bat first. Even though they lost the game just two days back when they batted first, Samson has kept the Jaipur stadium record in mind while taking the decision. The team that has batted first has won two out of three matches in the ‘Pink City’. Fiery knocks by Yashaswi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler helped Royals in getting that solid start during the powerplay. Jaiswal today completed 1,000 IPL runs. But his innings was cut short by clever bowling of Jansen. Skipper Samson remained unbeaten at 66 off 38 balls. Buttler smashed 95 off 59 balls till Bhuvneshwar Kumar got his wicket. Dominating the first innings with the bat, Royals posted a huge total of 214 on the board.
