Starlink gets GMPCS licence, moves closer to India launch

Elon Musk's Starlink has been granted a GMPCS license by the DoT, making it the third satcom operator in India. However, it still requires approval from In-SPACe and completion of infrastructure before it can begin trial services. Commercial services are expected in nine months, with a proposed spectrum usage charge of 4% and annual license fee of 8.5% by Trai.
