Cabinet clears four chip plants worth Rs 4,594 crore
The Union Cabinet has approved four semiconductor projects with an investment of Rs 76,000 crore, to be set up in Odisha, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh. These projects will have a combined capacity of 300 million chips per year and will boost the electronics manufacturing sector in India. In the past 11 years, the sector has seen significant growth with eightfold increase in exports.
