Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices ended Friday’s trading session in the positive territory. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 0.95 points lower to settle at 22,513.65, while the BSE Sensex gained just 20.58 points or 0.03% to 74,248.22. The broader indices ended in mixed territory, with gain led by Small-cap and Large-cap stocks. Bank Nifty index ended higher by 432.25 points or 0.90% to settle at 48,493.05. Realty and Banks stocks outperformed among the other sectoral indices while IT and Media stocks shed.
“Bank Nifty is also inching higher towards the 48500 – 48636 zone which is the all-time high. Momentum indicators on the daily and hourly time frame suggest a continuation of the upmove. The zone of 47700 – 47500shall act as a crucial support zone from the short-term perspective,” said Jatin Gedia, technical research analyst at Sharekhan by BNP Paribas.
The Nifty opened a gap up and witnessed selling pressure during the first half of the trading session. An equally sharp pullback during the second half helped the index close with gains of 80 points. The Nifty is heading towards the upper end of the rising channel placed at 22700.
“On the downside, the zone of 22350 – 22300 shall act as a crucial support from the short-term perspective. Minor degree pullbacks towards support zones should be used as a buying opportunity,” said Jatin Gedia, Technical Research Analyst at Sharekhan by BNP Paribas.

According to provisional data from the NSE, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares amounting to Rs 1,136.47 crore in net worth. Likewise, domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares totaling Rs 893.11 crore in net worth on April 04, 2024.
Asian equity markets declined amid concerns that the US could delay interest rate cuts. Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped by 2.19% to 38,903.77. The Shanghai Composite, China’s benchmark index, traded 0.18% lower at 3,069.30. The Asia Dow slipped by 0.03% to 3,306.71. Hang Seng remained closed due to a public holiday.
On Friday morning, WTI crude prices were up by 0.15% at $86.90, whereas Brent crude prices were down by 0.10% at $91.04.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), gauging the dollar’s strength against a selection of six major foreign currencies, experienced a marginal decline of 0.08%, reaching 104.17.
Stocks on Wall Street closed lower as concerns emerged that the Federal Reserve could delay an interest rate cut. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 530.16 points, or 1.35%, ending the session at 38,596.98. The S&P 500 decreased by 1.23%, closing at 5,147.21. Similarly, the Nasdaq Composite retreated by 1.40%, finishing at 16,049.08.
