After a choppy trading session on November 3, Indian markets closed flat. The Sensex Sensexadded just 39.78 points to settle at 83,978.49, while the Nifty edged up 41.25 points to end at 25,763.35.

Asian Markets

Asian markets are trading lower. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is 0.39% lower, while the Topix slipped 0.23%. South Korea’s Kospi fell 0.32%, though the Kosdaq inched up 0.24%. In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 was lower by 0.36%.

US market

In the US, markets ended mixed on Monday. The Nasdaq gained 0.46% to close at 23,834.72, and the S&P 500 inched up 0.17% to 6,851.97. However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 226.19 points, or 0.48%, to end at 47,336.68.

US dollar

The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was 0.11% up at 99.99 on Tuesday morning. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee closed at 88.78 to the dollar on November 3.

Crude Oil

Crude oil prices edged lower in early trade on Tuesday, with WTI crude slipping 0.15% to $60.96 per barrel and Brent crude declining 0.17% to $64.78 per barrel.

FII, DII data

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers, offloading Indian equities worth Rs 1,884 crore. In contrast, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) turned net buyers, purchasing shares worth Rs 3,516 crore on November 3, 2025, as per provisional exchange data.

Gold rate today

In the latest on the yellow metal, the gold rate in Dubai, 24-carat gold was priced at AED 483.75 per gram, while 22-carat traded at AED 448 per gram and 18-carat at AED 368.25 per gram.

As per Goodreturns, in India, the 24-carat gold rate today is Rs 1,23,180/10 gm, while 22-carat gold costs Rs 1,12,910. For those preferring 18-carat gold, the price is Rs 92,390 for the same weight.

Top sectors in the last trading session

Among sectors, tea and coffee stocks gained 2.48%, while plastics rose 1.74%. The telecommunications sector also edged higher, recording a 1.71% increase.
