Vibrant Gujarat Summit LIVE updates Day 2: The 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was inaugurated on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. This Summit is a platform aimed at fostering economic growth, investments, and international partnerships. Showcasing Gujarat as an investment hub, this event underscores its significance with Prime Minister Modi’s participation, emphasizing the state’s economic potential.
Today, January 12, 2024, marks the third day of the three-day event. At this summit, 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations are actively participating, bringing together a distinguished assembly of global leaders, including Presidents, Prime Ministers, and CEOs of multinational corporations from various nations. Prime Minister Modi is set to engage in bilateral discussions with key figures such as Toshihiro Suzuki of Suzuki Motor Corp, Keith Svendsen of AP Moller, Sanjay Mehrotra of Micron Technology, Piruz Khambatta, Chairman of Rasna Private Limited, and others. Prominent Indian executives, including Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, and Natarajan Chandrasekaran, will also be present at the event.
The 2015 summit witnessed 21,304 MoUs, while the 2017 edition recorded 24,774 deals, with approximately 70% coming to fruition. Officials expressed confidence that this year’s MoUs will achieve an impressive realization rate of 90%.
Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Minister at Railway, Communication & Electronics, and IT said during a seminar at the Summit that the bullet train work is going very rapidly.
While Ashwini Vaishnav asked IIT-Gandhinagar to open a centre of excellence for semi-conductors, he also said it is a great opportunity for world to take advantage of green processes in India.
‘This year itself, we will start export of EVs to Europe’, said Rahul Bharti, the Executive Director at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. during the seminar.

Essar Group plans a 1-gigawatt green hydrogen project in Jamnagar, Gujarat, alongside the expansion of its ports and power ventures in the region. Prashant Ruia, Promoter Director of Essar Group, revealed the development, following an MoU signed with the Gujarat government in December 2023, requiring an estimated investment of Rs 30,000 crore. The move aligns with the Union Cabinet’s approval of the National Green Hydrogen Mission in January 2023, aiming to position India as a global hub for hydrogen technology production, utilization, and export.

At the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, PM Modi expressed that India is perceived globally as a crucial bastion of stability—an ally worthy of trust, a collaborator committed to people-centric progress, a proponent of global welfare, and a spokesperson for the interests of the global south.
Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd, said in his address at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit that the Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation will partner with several organisations in education and sports to prepare the country for the Hon Pms vision of hosting the Olympics of 2036.

While addressing the summit in Gujarat, the Chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani announced an investment of Rs 55,000 crore. ‘I announce our investment of over Rs. 55,000 crore by 2025 in Gujarat. We have already surpassed Rs. 50,000 crore across the various sectors I have promised, and have vastly exceeded our target of 25000 direct and indirect jobs’, he said.
