Nalco achieves highest ever turnover, forex earnings

Navratna PSU Nalco has achieved record foreign exchange earnings of R3,719 crore (provisional) for 2013-14. It has also reported the highest-ever bauxite production of 62.93 lakh tonnes, against the previous best of 54.19 lakh tonnes in the previous year. Nalco?s Alumina Refinery has produced a record 19.25 lakh tonnes of alumina hydrate, against the previous best of 18.02 lakh tonne in 2012-13.

HAL crosses R15,000-crore turnover in FY14

Aerospace major HAL?s turnover has crossed the R15,000-crore mark during 2013-14, up from R14,324 crore recorded a year earlier. It has clocked the highest ever turnover of R15,180 crore during the year, while operating profit went up to R1,651 crore from R1,194 crore.

Record production at Neyveli Lignite exceeds target

Neyveli Lignite Corporation has said its lignite production climbed to 266.09 lakh tonnes in 2013-14, exceeding the target set by the government. ?Neyveli Lignite completed the year 2013-14, breaking its own records in…lignite excavation and power generation,? the company said in a filing to the BSE. The Tamil Nadu-based company operates three opencast lignite mines in Neyveli and one in Rajasthan.

Gail offices to move to new 22-storey building at Noida

GAIL India Ltd, the nation?s largest gas transmission firm, is moving into a swanky 22-storey building, where all its offices will be housed under one-roof. Oil secretary Saurabh Chandra inaugurated the new office building, GAIL Jubilee Tower at Noida, NCR, last week. The tower is 118 metres tall, more than one-and-a-half times the height of the Qutub Minar (73 metres).

Padmanabhan takes over as NRL managing director

P Padmanabhan took over as the managing director of Numaligarh Refinery Ltd on April 1, succeeding Dipak Chakravorty who retired on March 31. Prior to his appointment, he was executive director (refineries co-ordination), BPCL, NRL?s holding company with a majority equity of 61.65%.

NMDC clocks record sales, production on higher steel demand

Buoyed by higher demand from domestic steel makers, sales and production of state-owned iron ore miner NMDC touched a record high of over 30 million tonnes in 2013-14, up by 11.31%. Sales rose 16.22% to 30.8 mt.

RSP records best-ever annual production in 2013-14

Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has achieved the best ever figures in key production areas in 2013-14. It produced 25,38,322 tonnes of hot metal, a growth of 7.3% over the previous year. Crude steel output was up 3.8% at 22,91,340 tonnes and saleable steel output up 4.8% at 22,48,247 tonnes. It achieved more than 100% capacity utilisation in all the three key production areas–hot metal (127%), crude steel (120%) and saleable steel (134%), RSP said. By producing 37,62,875 tonnes of sinter, the plant clocked a growth of 4% year-on-year?its best-ever performance.
