On Thursday, Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi got embroiled in political controversy after his remarks in the Lok Sabha on Thursday where he said that the detention of an elected MP from Punjab, Amritpal Singh under the National Security Act (NSA) was part of an “undeclared Emergency” by the Centre. Channi’s comments sparked an uproar in the house, with the BJP demanding answers from the Congress and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. However, Congress distanced itself from Channi’s comments.

INC MP Praniti Sushilkumar Shinde says that many PHCs in Maharashtra are ill-equipped and people need to travel far to civil hospitals for certificates and treatments.
