Odisha Election 2024 Phase 3 Voting Highlights: Odisha recorded a significant voter turnout of 70.99 per cent by 9 am on Sunday in the six Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 assembly segments that went to polls on Saturday. Polling was held in Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Puri parliamentary constituencies alongside 42 assembly segments within their jurisdictions. Chief Electoral Officer N.B. Dhal said there was peaceful conduct of voting across the 10,581 polling stations, adding that there were sporadic reports of EVM glitches. Among the Lok Sabha seats, Sambalpur observed the highest voter turnout at 65.91 per cent, and within the 42 assembly segments, Pallahara Vidhan Sabha recorded the highest turnout at 73.86 per cent, while the lowest was at 42.10 per cent in Barabati Cuttack segment by 5 pm. A total of 447 candidates, including 64 for the Lok Sabha seats and 383 for the assembly constituencies, were in the fray in the sixth phase. More than 94.48 lakh voters were eligible to exercise their franchise in 10,581 booths in the third round of simultaneous elections in the state.

Odisha Assembly Elections Phase 3 Live Updates: Security arrangements in place

In order to ensure the smooth conduct of elections, five IPS officers of ASP rank have been deployed for Sambalpur, Khurda, Keonjhar, and Cuttack districts. 42 Assembly Supervising Officers, holding the rank of additional SP along with a striking force, have been assigned. 84 DSPs will oversee law and order, with two designated for each assembly segment. Moreover, 231 sector officers, holding the rank of inspector, will also be deployed on poll duty.
