Lok Sabha Election 2024, Northeast Result 2024 Highlights: The Congress has disrupted the BJP’s aspirations for a complete victory in the northeastern states, which collectively hold 25 Lok Sabha seats. The grand old party won seven seats, including two in the strife-ridden state of Manipur. Meanwhile, the BJP won 13 seats across the eight north-eastern states – Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram. Results were declared on June 4.

In Manipur, where the Congress failed to secure any seats in the 2019 general elections, its candidates Angomcha Bimol Akoijam and Alfred Kanngam S Arthur have emerged victorious in both the Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur constituencies. Previously, the BJP clinched the Inner Manipur seat in 2019, while its ally, the Naga Peoples Front (NPF), claimed the Outer Manipur seat. In Assam, the BJP and the Congress won nine and three seats respectively.
