Tollywood actor and TMC candidate Mimi Chakraborty won the Jadavpur seat in 2019. In 2019 the seat was won by TMC leader Sugata Bose and in 2009 Kabir Suman had won from the seat.
The Jadavpur constituency is considered as the most prestigious Lok Sabha seat that has had several heavyweights, including Left veteran and former speaker Somnath Chatterjee and incumbent chief minister Mamata Banerjee representing it. Known as the Left’s bastion for decades, the seat has been won by TMC since 2009.
