Delhi Assembly Polls 2025 Highlights: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a strong attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, calling them “cowards and corrupt” during a public meeting in Mustafabad. Gandhi criticised Modi for constantly blaming India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Kejriwal for blaming Modi, while both leaders avoided taking responsibility for issues. Meanwhile, seven outgoing AAP MLAs have resigned from the party just days ahead of the Delhi polls. The MLAs were reportedly disgruntled after being denied tickets for the February 5 polls. Elections to the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8.

AAP leaders carry bottles of ammonia mixed water to BJP headquarters
The AAP leaders were stopped by police near the BJP headquarters here on Thursday, as they tried to give ammonia mixed water to the party leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Amid controversy over his “Haryana government mixed poison in water for Delhi”, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal earlier the day claimed that ammonia content in Yamuna went upto 7 ppm (parts per million) that is dangerous for human health.
During a press conference, Kejriwal also showed four bottles — one each for Shah, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
He said the AAP leaders will present the bottles to the BJP and Congress leaders, daring them to drink it if they thought that it was fit for human consumption.
Carrying a bottle outside the BJP headquarters here, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said this “poisonous” water is having six times more ammonia than permissible limit that was being tried to be supplied in Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal said, “I want to talk to the supporters of Congress party today. Recently, a few people came to meet me. I asked them who they would vote for. They said to Congress. I asked them why would they vote for Congress when there is nothing left of them in Delhi…They said the Congress isn’t the same anymore now. They said the amount Congress supporters work to make sure Congress wins, and the party leaders work to make sure the party loses. They also said that it is clear that Congress aims to make sure AAP loses Delhi elections and the party is working along with BJP for this. Congress leaders say nothing against BJP leaders but only AAP leaders….I told them if they voted for Congress, they would benefit the BJP… ”

BJP President J.P. Nadda on Thursday criticized the AAP over its handling of the Yamuna pollution issue, calling its blame game a reflection of the government’s inefficiency. Delhi Elections 2025 Live Updates: Kejriwal Announces Seven Guarantees
National Governor Arvind Kejriwal has unveiled seven guarantees for servants and staff working in government residences. Speaking at a press conference, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader revealed plans for a servant registration portal, where both job seekers and employers can register to connect and find employment opportunities.
The seven guarantees also include the introduction of a personal staff card, similar to the government employee card, which will grant staff access to services and resources. Additionally, a staff hostel facility will be created to ensure better living conditions for employees. Kejriwal further promised mobile healthcare facilities, which would provide accessible medical services to the workers.
Kejriwal also emphasized the importance of legal protection and welfare benefits for servants, including health insurance, scholarships for their children’s education, and financial support for their daughters’ marriages. These measures align with the welfare programs previously introduced for auto drivers in the capital.
Addressing concerns of exploitation, Kejriwal pointed out that many staff working in government residences, particularly those attached to ministers and MPs, do not receive a proper salary and are instead compensated with only a servant quarter. He called this a form of bonded labor and stressed that several MPs were even renting out servant quarters for profit.
The proposed changes aim to improve the conditions of the workforce serving in government accommodations, offering better job security and welfare benefits.
