Baramati Election Result 2024 Highlights: Ajit Pawar defeats nephew Yugendra Pawar of NCP(SP) by over one lakh votes

The counting of votes has begun across all 288 Assembly constituencies in Maharashtra. The state went to the polls in a single phase on November 20, and the results will be announced today.

The 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections was held in a single phase for all 288 seats. The voters in the Baramati Assembly constituency voted on November 20, 2024, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23, 2024.

A total of 23 candidates were in the fray for the Baramati Assembly seat in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly election: Abdulrauf Alias Jafar Rajjak Mulani (Independent), Abhijit Mahadeo Kamble (Independent), Ajit Pawar (Nationalist Congress Party), Amol Narayan Choudhar (Independent), Amol Yuvraj Agawane (Independent), Anurag Adinath Khalate (Bharatiya Praja Surajya Paksha), Chandrakant Dadu Kharat (Bahujan Samaj Party), Chopade Sandip Maruti (Rashtriya Samaj Paksha), Chopade Seema Atul (Independent), Dr Abhijeet Wamanrao Awade-Bichukale (Independent), Er Kalyani Sujitkumar Waghmode (Independent), Kaushalya Sanjay Bhandalkar (Independent), Mangaldas Tukaram Nikalje (Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi), Mithun Sopanrao Atole (Independent), Sachin Shankar Agawane (Independent), Sambhaji Pandurang Holkar (Independent), Santosh Popatrao Kamble (Independent), Savita Jagannath Shinde (Independent), Shivaji Jaysingh Kokare (Independent), Soyal Shaha Yunus Shaha Shaikh (Samata Party), Vikram Bharat Kokare (Independent), Vinod Shivajirao Jagtap (Swatantra Bharat Paksha), Yugendra Pawar (Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar).

In the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the voter turnout in the Baramati Assembly Constituency was recorded at 71.03%.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Ajit Anantrao Pawar of the NCP secured this seat, defeating Gopichand Kundlik Padalkar of the BJP by a margin of 1,64,035 votes, which accounted for 69.79% of the total votes cast. The NCP had a dominant vote share of 83.24% in the constituency.

In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Ajit Pawar again won this seat, defeating Balasaheb (alias Prabhakar Dadaram) Gawade of the BJP by a margin of 89,791 votes, which represented 39.31% of the total votes cast. The NCP’s vote share in 2014 was 65.92%.

In the 2009 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Ajit Pawar triumphed once more, defeating Taware Ranjankumar Shankarrao of the IND by a margin of 1,02,797 votes, or 54.58% of the total votes cast. The NCP held a vote share of 68.25% in the constituency that year.

The vote counting for all 288 assembly constituencies in Maharashtra, including the 12 constituencies in Nagpur district, will begin at 8 am.

The Baramati constituency is situated in Pune district, which has a total of 8,647,172 registered voters. This includes 4,491,068 male voters, 4,155,330 female voters, and 774 third-gender voters.

Constituency number 201, the Baramati seat in Maharashtra, is located in Pune district and is an unreserved constituency.
