Vidhan Sabha Election Result 2019: The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is set to return to power for the second straight term in Maharashtra. The BJP-Sena combine managed to win 161 of the 288 seats. However, the numbers are lower than what they had got in the last assembly polls. The saffron party is alone won 105 seats while Sena claimed 56. The Congress-NCP alliance recorded a combined tally of 99.
In Haryana, the BJP is ahead of Congress but falling short of the majority mark. The saffron party won 40 seats while the Congress had 31. Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janta Party won 10 seats in its maiden assembly polls. He could be the kingmaker in the state as his party’s support would become crucial with neither of the parties crossing the magic number of 46, which is required to form the government.
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has won from Karnal. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala has lost to BJP candidate Leela Ram Gurjar in the Kaithal assembly seat of Haryana. Congress leader Kuldeep Vihnoi has also won from Adampur. JJP President Dushyant Chautala has won from Uchana Kalan.

The poll verdict in Haryana and Maharashtra is a moral defeat of the BJP and what it stands for, the Congress said on Thursday, hoping that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will now focus on the problems confronting the country and its people.
"The political pundits who are analysing today's election results, Haryana in itself is an exceptional win since these days there have been less instances of winning again after completing a 5 year term," said PM Modi.
While addressing BJP workers at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday, PM Modi says "In Maharashtra and Haryana, both Devendra Fadnavis and ML Khattar were first-time CMs. But both of them worked non-stop for the welfare of the state and the people. I am confident that under their leadership, Maharashtra and Haryana will touch new heights."
Union home minister Amit Shah is addressing BJP workers at the party headquarters in New Delhi. 'BJP governments in Maharashtra and Haryana run the government efficiently and ensured zero-corruption. People of both the states have appreciated our work by voting us back to power," Amit Shah said.
Prime minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of Maharashtra and Haryana. He said that the party would continue to work for the the progress of the states' with zeal and dedication.
Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray has won from Worli assembly constituency. With this, he becomes the first leader from the Thackeray family to contest an election. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said that he was proud of Aditya. "I am happy that the people gave him so much love," he said.
Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Assembly results: Mandate is against the current government of Haryana, and all parties should come together to form a strong government whether it's JJP, BSP, INLD or independent candidates.
Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah will meet and address the party workers at the party headquarters this evening.
