After defeating Zimbabwe 4-1 in a T20 International series, the Indian men’s cricket team traveled down to Sri Lanka for a limited-over series. The team led by Surya Kumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma will play against Lankans in three T20s in Pallekele, followed by three ODIs in Colombo. Reportedly, the series, starting on July 27, 2024, will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network from 7.00 PM Indian standard time (IST) onwards.

To be sure, India and Sri Lanka, both have a younger squad, especially in the T20Is where seasoned players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja announced retirement post winning the recently concluded T20 World Cup. Apart from newer players in the squad, both teams will also have new head coaches; Gautam Gambhir for India and Sanath Jayasurya for Sri Lanka.
As per the report, the studio show of Sony Sports Network ‘Extraa Innings’ has also returned with English commentators like Robin Utthappa, Scott Styris, Saba Karim and Abhinav Mukund and Russell Arnold among others. Formers player like Ashish Nehra, Ajay Jadeja, Pragyan Ojha, Akash Chopra will be commentating in Hindi while Tamil and Telegu panel will be having Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan, R. Sridhar, Anirudha Srikkantha, TR Arasu, Venkatapathy Raju, Ashish Reddy and Akshath Reddy respectively. It is also mentioned in the report that, matches will be broadcast Live on Sony Sports Ten 1, Sony Sports Ten 5 (English), Sony Sports Ten 3 (Hindi) & Sony Sports Ten 4 (Tamil & Telugu) channels.
