Videos related to prominent figures such as Ratan Tata and Anant Ambani, as well as the film Kalki 2898 AD, saw considerable engagement. The report further revealed that the term “moye moye” became a viral sensation, accumulating over 4.5 billion views in 2024, reflecting the growing influence of regional and cultural trends.

In the realm of content creators, the report reveals that YouTube India saw a diverse range of popular figures, both domestic and international. MrBeast, with 332 million subscribers, remained a dominant global presence, while Indian creators like Filmy Suraj (32.5 million subscribers) and Sujal Thakral (33.5 million subscribers) gained significant traction. Other top creators included KL Bro Biju Rithvik, with 61.6 million subscribers, and Priyal Kukreja, with 40 million subscribers. Additionally, global influencers such as UR Cristiano (69.8 million subscribers) and the Stokes Twins (99.5 million subscribers) continued to resonate with Indian audiences, further solidifying YouTube’s global reach.

When it comes to music, several songs stood out as the most-watched tracks of the year. Among the top songs were Kurchi Madathapetti by Sahithi Chaganti and Sri Krishna, Jale 2 by Shiva Chaudhary, and Aaj Ki Raat by Madhubanti Bagchi, Divya Kumar, and Sachin Jigar. Regional and folk music also played a significant role in the music landscape, with tracks like Matak Chalungi by Manisha Sharma, Raj Mawar, and Aman Jaji, and Bukhoorabujha Bhail 2 by Khesari Lal Yadav drawing millions of views.

YouTube Shorts also saw a rise in popularity, with shorter video content becoming a key part of the music trend. Songs such as Dhana by Priyanka Meher and Rongpaz, and Funk Estranho (Super Slowed) by ALXIKE were particularly popular on the platform. Additionally, tracks like Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya by Raghav, Tanishk Bagchi, and Asees Kaur, and Gulabi Sadi by Sanju Rathod and G – SPXRK also saw considerable engagement. It is revealed that the consumption pattern on YouTube has largely shifted to Shorts suggesting evolving preferences in how audiences engage with content, moving towards quicker, more accessible formats while still enjoying a broad spectrum of genres.
