Audi A8 L

Based on the Prologue Concept, the Audi A8L uses the latest design language of the brand. At the front is the largest single-frame hexagonal grille put on an Audi sedan. The overall design has a sharp styling theme and the headlamps use the latest LED Matrix system. The Audi leans towards a sportier look but maintains elegance that is preferred by customers in the segment. It features a sporty roofline with a coupe-like silhouette. The Audi A8L also uses an LED set up for the taillights. The rear of the Audi A8L has an imposing look with a wide stance which is accentuated with an LED strip that runs across the width of the car that connects the two tail lamps seamlessly.

Most owners of the A8L would most likely be seated in the rear, and Audi has paid the most attention for the rear passenger comfort. As first-in-segment, the Audi also offers a foot massage function for the left side rear passenger. But, regular massaging seats are standard for both. You get a detachable central command or control tablet also in the rear that can control nearly everything on the car. The driver is equipped with all the latest technology to assist them to provide the most sumptuous travelling experience for the passengers. The dashboard of the A8L features two touchscreen systems mounted in the centre. The main one above manages the infotainment system, while the second one below manages the systems of the vehicle, like the HVAC and the vehicle dynamics.

The Audi A8L in India is offered with the 55 TFSI Quattro variant. This variant of the A8L is powered by a 2,995cc, V6 petrol engine with twin-turbos. It is assisted with 48V mild-hybrid electric motor. The engine develops 340hp at 5,000–6,400 rpm and 500Nm of torque between 1,370–4,500rpm.

Audi offers the A8L ’s V6 engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission with permanent all-wheel-drive. The A8L is also equipped with four-wheel steering that helps reduce the turning radius of the extremely long car, while it also functions to improve high-speed stability.

The Audi A8L comes with ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels as standard. Being a full-size luxury model, the A8L comes equipped with many active and passive safety features. The A8L comes with a long list of driver-assist functions, autonomous drive technologies, and collision avoidance systems in addition to the standard airbags, and other safety functions that are offered traditionally.

The Audi A8L is offered with a 82-litre fuel tank and is required to run on Sulphur-free super RON 95 grade petrol. However, Audi India has not yet disclosed the official fuel economy figures for the 2020 A8L. Despite being a petrol-only model, the A8L offers mild-hybrid technology that helps save a lot of fuel.
