Chinese electronics company Xiaomi has been expanding its horizons beyond just smartphones and it was just a matter of time before it entered the electric vehicle segment. And now, the company has launched the SU7 EV in China with prices starting at RMB 215,900 for the standard variant, RMB 245,900 for Pro variant and RMB 299,900 for the Max variant.

The SU7 EV looks like an impressive machine and has some very interesting specs on paper. For instance, the standard variant has a claimed range of 700km and can be fast-charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 25 minutes.

In terms of design, the SU7 arrives at a length, width, and height of has a length of 4,997 mm; 1,963 mm width and 1,455 mm height. The car gets a 3,000 mm wheelbase. And did we mention it also gets 105-litre of frunk space.

Coming from Xiaomi’s stable, it is clear that the technology company has left no stone unturned to have the latest bells and whistles in terms of features. It gets a headsup display, Pilot Pro ADAS with vision (Pilot Max with vision and LiDAR on the top two trims), a mini fridge add-on, and a Dolby Atmos sound system (Max trim).

It also gets individual drive modes, 20sec boost mode and launch control. In terms of braking power the company claims an impressive braking distance of 33.3m when going from 100kmph to 0kmph, thanks to the Brembo 4-piston calipers, Bosch DPB brake controller and Bosch ESP10.0 stability control system.

The company claims it has used 72-in-1unit integrated die-casting rear floor, which means there are almost 840 less welded joints, which translates to 17 percent of weight saving. It also helps reduce upto 2db of noise level and increase lifespan durability to over 2 million kilometre.

The vehicle is all autonomous driving ready.
