Volkswagen ID.4 makes India debut

Volkswagen showcased the all-electric ID.4 at its annual conference, and its launch is expected this year.

Volkswagen, during its annual conference, showcased the ID.4 for the first time in India, showcasing its plans for electrification. The carmaker is expected to launch the all-electric ID.4 in India this year. The Volkswagen ID.4 was showcased alongside the carmaker’s new lineup for India, which consists of the Taigun GT Plus Sport and GT Line variants. The carmaker also showcased the Virtus GT Plus Sport concept.

Volkswagen ID.4 details and specifications

The Volkswagen ID.4 is sold in the global markets and features a muscular stance, owing to the headlight and grille design. As manufacturers are looking at shrinking the size of headlights, VW has chosen the other way, giving the ID.4 a unique identity. The vehicle can be had with either 19 or 20-inch wheels, depending on the variant.

Globally, the Volkswagen ID.4 is available in several variants, including all-wheel-drive options. The ID.4 gets all-LED lighting, heated seats, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and navigation, and several driver assist functions.

The Volkswagen ID.4 has a range of 275 miles (442km) with a fully charged battery pack, while it can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 5.8 seconds. The battery pack can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 36 minutes via a DC fast charger, and users can access a host of functions via a mobile phone application.
