The electric scooter market has intense competition, especially after the legacy automakers stepped up their game. The Bajaj Chetak led sales in the segment several times and now, TVS has done it — becomes the best-selling electric two-wheeler brand in April 2025 as per Vahan registration data. So, how did the competition do? Here are the top five best-selling EV brands in April 2025.
Top 5 best-selling two-wheeler EV brands in April 2025
As we already know, TVS leads sales. The Hosur-based company has two electric scooters in its portfolio — the iQube and the X. The former is to be credited for the company’s sales performance and TVS sold a total of 19,736 units, as compared to selling 7,762 units in April 2024, registering a robust YoY growth of 154 percent.
Ola Electric comes second and despite the numerous problems the company has been facing, including its sales numbers in February 2025, the Bengaluru-based EV startup sold 19,709 units in April. However, when compared to April 2024, Ola’s sales have seen a massive 42 percent decline.
Bajaj takes third — the company that led EV sales in March 2025. In April 2025, Bajaj sold 19,001 units, witnessing a YoY growth of 151 percent. In April last year, Bajaj sold 7,559 units. Bajaj has revamped its only electric offering in the segment – Chetak – recently and also launched the most affordable Chetak model, the 3503, at Rs 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom.
Ather is next on the list, with sales of 13,167 units in April 2025. The Bengaluru-based EV maker offers the 450 in X, S, and Apex trims, which are further split based on the battery size and add-on packages. The company also offers the family-friendly Rizta, which has helped the company with sales numbers.
Making it to fifth place is another legacy two-wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp. Like Bajaj, Hero offers one model – the Vida – which has seen updates recently and is available in three trims. This has helped the company sell 6,123 units in April 2025, registering a massive 540 percent growth over April 2024.
