EVs have become popular with kids these days, as they kind of portray an extension of them in many ways, with the cool and trendy bit being one aspect. That said, with many kids entering college soon, here are some electric scooters to consider. The electric scooters in our list may not be the most affordable outright, but they have a good balance between price and reliability, while also being a good overall package that is worth the money.
Ola S1X Gen 3

The Ola S!X Gen 3 is the most affordable scooter on our list and the base version with the 2kWh battery pack costs Rs 73,999 ex-showroom. The scooter offers a range of 108km (IDC), has a top speed of 101kmph, and can accelerate from 0–40kmph in 3.4 seconds, which is quick for a commuter. The battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 4 hours and 50 minutes.
Hero Vida V2

The next scooter on our list is the Hero Vida V2, the updated version of the Vida range. We are talking about the V2 Lite, which carries a price tag of Rs 85,000 ex-showroom. The scooter offers a range of 94km with its 2.2kWh battery pack while it can reach a top speed of 69kmph. A big advantage the Hero Vida V2 has is its weight — 116kg. The Hero Vida V2 Lite comes in four colours and the battery pack can be charged in 3.3 hours from 0–80%.
Honda QC1

The Hinda QC1 takes the third spot, with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 90,000. The Honda QC1 is much more than what its spec sheet portrays and the scooter does its job as intended. The Honda QC1 is powered by a 1.5kWh battery pack that can be charged at home, while offering a range of 80km. The QC1 gets two ride modes and the battery pack takes 4.3 hours to charge from 0–80%.
TVS iQube

Now we move on to something a bit more expensive. The TVS iQube will not just serve the need to go to college and be back, but is also a great family scooter. Priced at Rs 1.08 lakh ex-showroom, the iQube offers a range of 75km on a full charge, while it can reach a top speed of 75kmph. The iQube is extremely comfortable to ride and when legacy automakers build an EV, the result is the iQube.
Bajaj Chetak

This is another example to showcase the expertise legacy automakers possess. The Bajaj Chetak is selling in good numbers and the reason is simple — built well, looks well, and has all the features one needs without the distraction. The entry-level Chetak 3503 is priced at Rs 1.09 lakh ex-showroom and offers a range of 155km on a full charge. If making a style statement in college is a priority, then the Chetak is the solution.
