Musk’s involvement with the White House has yielded some results — Tesla’s profit fell by 71% and recorded lowest-ever quarterly sales since 2022. As a result, Musk has said that he will start working less with President Donald Trump, perhaps dedicate a day or two. On an investor call, Musk said the work necessary to get the government’s “financial house in order is mostly done. Starting probably next month, May, my time allocation to Doge will drop significantly.”
Ever since Must took over his role in the White House, he has been receiving severe backlash and there have been so many cases of vandalising Tesla dealerships and vehicles in the US.
Tesla sales and revenue drop
Tesla saw a 9 percent decline in revenue during the first quarter of 2025 compared to last year, while the company’s profits also fell 71 percent to $409 million compared with $1.39 billion in net income the year before. Tesla’s vehicle deliveries saw a dip of 13 percent, ending the quarter with 336,681 vehicles delivered. The company also saw a 50 percent dip in share prices.
Analysts say, “If Musk leaves the White House there will be permanent brand damage…but Tesla will have its most important asset and strategic thinker back as full time CEO to drive the vision and the long term story will not be altered,” read a Wedbush Securities analyst note. If Musk chooses to stay with the Trump White House it could change the future of Tesla/brand damage will grow.”
