Mahindra has announced the price of the top variant of its flagship electric SUV, the XEV 9e, at Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This long-range variant, called the Pack Three, follows the earlier reveal of the Pack One priced at Rs 21.90 lakh. Bookings for the XEV 9e Pack Three will open on February 14, with deliveries expected to begin in March. Mahindra has yet to disclose the price of the mid-tier Pack Two variant. Currently, the XEV 9e competes with the BYD duo — the Atto 3 and eMax 7 — and we take a closer look at how this made-in-India EV SUV stacks up against its rivals.
Mahindra XEV 9e vs Rivals: Price

The Mahindra XEV 9e will be offered in three trims — Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three, with different battery options. Mahindra has revealed the prices for the 59 kWh Pack One and the 79 kWh Pack Three models. The Pack One is priced at Rs 21.90 lakh, while the Pack Three is priced at Rs 30.50 lakh, both ex-showroom (introductory prices).
The BYD Atto 3 offers two battery options: a 49.92 kWh and a 60.48 kWh. The entry-level Dynamic variant with the 49.92 kWh battery is priced at Rs 24.99 lakh. The 60.48 kWh variant is available in two trims: Premium at Rs 29.85 lakh and Superior at Rs 33.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
The BYD eMax 7 also offers two battery options: a 55.4 kWh and a 71.8 kWh. The 55.4 kWh is available in two variants: Premium 6-seater at Rs 26.90 lakh and Premium 7-seater at Rs 27.50 lakh, ex-showroom. The 71.8 kWh long-range variant is offered in Superior trims: 6-seater at Rs 29.30 lakh and 7-seater at Rs 29.90 lakh, ex-showroom.

Mahindra XEV 9e vs Rivals: Power and Range

The XEV 9e’s entry-level 59 kWh variant delivers 228 bhp and offers a range of 542 km (MIDC), while the 79 kWh variant produces 282 bhp and delivers a range of 656 km. Both versions generate 380 Nm of torque.
The BYD Atto 3 comes with two battery options: a 49.92 kWh and a 60.48 kWh. Both batteries provide an output of 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. According to ARAI, the 49.92 kWh offers a range of 468 km, while the 60.48 kWh provides a range of 521 km.
The recently launched BYD eMax 7 offers two battery choices: a 55.4 kWh and a 71.8 kWh. The 55.4 kWh variant produces 161 bhp and offers a range of 420 km (NEDC), while the 71.8 kWh long-range battery generates 201 bhp and offers a range of up to 530 km (NEDC).
