Volkswagen is undoubtedly one of the prominent legacy OEMs in the electric vehicle (EV) besides EV giants like Tesla and BYD. The German carmaker has now unveiled its next venture in the EV space. The company has finally unveiled its entry-level EV called ID.Every1 which was teased earlier this year.

Still a pre-production concept at this stage, the production-spec model of the ID.Every1 will hit the markets in Europe starting 2027. A spiritual successor to the Volkswagen Up, the company describes it as a model that’s “from Europe for Europe”. The electric hatchback will be the entry point to the German carmaker’s ID range of electric cars, sitting below the ID.2 All which is considered as the battery-powered equivalent of Polo.

Volkswagen says the upcoming ID.Every1 will be priced around 20,000 euros (approx. Rs 18.90 lakh), around 5,000 euros less than the ID.2 All which is slated to make its official debut in 2026. At an overall length of 3,880 mm, the ID.Every1 is more than 100mm smaller than the ID.2 All.

Volkswagen ID.Every1: Expected Design

Volkswagen claims the final production model will not veer off too much from the concept just revealed. The hatchback’s proportions clearly pay homage to the Up, while its front end exudes a friendly expression with a blacked-out upper faux grille, large LED headlamps, and a contrasting black trim on the lower bumper.

The rounded fascia is further enhanced by vertical LED daytime running lights positioned at the bumper’s edges, while the blacked-out A-pillar creates a seamless wraparound effect for the windscreen. The side profile features subtly sculpted wheel arches but lacks bold character lines, emphasizing a clean and understated design. According to Volkswagen, this minimalist approach aims to create a “timeless” and “classless” aesthetic.

The concept also includes flush door handles and 19-inch wheels, while the C-pillar design pays homage to the first-generation Golf. The rear end mirrors the front, featuring similarly designed tail lamps and bumper, along with an integrated third brake light in the spoiler. According to Volkswagen, the ID Every1 shares much of its design with the ID.2 All up to the A-pillars but has a shorter wheelbase and a smaller battery.

Volkswagen ID.Every1: Interiors & Features

Step inside the cabin and you’ll be greeted with a minimalist cabin, very familiar with the other ID range of EVs from VW. Fortunately, VW has retained some physical buttons to control temperature and volume functions. There’s also a brand new two-spoke, flat-bottom and flat-top steering wheel.

The centre console is mounted on rails so that it can be moved from the front to the rear compartment.Further, the rectangular AC vents resonate with the headlamp clusters. The other prominent highlight is a portable Bluetooth speaker mounted on the centre console. Volkswagen says the ID.Every1 will be a four-seater model.

Volkswagen ID.Every1: Expected powertrain

Like the ID.2All, the ID.Every1 is based on the MEB modular electric platform which is front-wheel driven. In the concept stage, the ID.Every1 is equipped with a newly developed 70 kW (95 PS) electric motor, allowing it to reach a top speed of 130 kmph. Volkswagen is yet to reveal the official battery and it offers a minimum range of 250 kilometers.
