Volkswagen Virtus completed three years in India after establishing itself as the number one sedan in the segment. In 2022, Volkswagen dared to enter the sedan class when the market continued to be ruled by SUVs. The German automobile manufacturer may not have set the sales chart on fire, but the Virtus has been comfortably beating the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Skoda Slavia on a regular basis. Based on the May figures, Virtus is the only sedan in its category to cross the four-figure mark by selling 1,707 units in May 2025. Believe it or not, the Virtus is Volkswagen India’s best-selling vehicle edging out the SUV, Taigun.
Volkswagen Virtus achieves a milestone
The Virtus established itself as the benchmark in the premium sedan segment by capturing a commanding 32% segment share (YTD’25), standing out as the only sedan consistently delivering a consistent performance. The ‘Made in India, for India and the World’ sedan offers a bold design, exhilarating performance, and signature German build quality have created a loyal fan base among driving enthusiasts who value both elegance and excitement.
