Volkswagen has showcased a glimpse of the upcoming Golf at the anniversary of the Golf brand. The all-wheel drive fully camouflaged Golf R was unveiled at an ice race in Austria. This traditional motorsport event provided the perfect stage to honour Golf’s rich legacy while giving spectators a glimpse of its exciting future.
The Golf has also acquired the R badge, which signifies more performance and power within the brand.
Volkswagen Golf Models
The new Golf will be available in four variants — the Golf R, the Golf GTI, the Golf eHybrid, and the Golf GTE.
Six-time World Rallycross Champion, Johan Kristofferson has shared his excitement about the Golf by stating “ I love driving a powerful all-wheel drive car on ice and snow, especially if it’s an R model.” the Swedish driver won five of his six World Rallycross Championship titles with Volkswagen. He further continued “ It was great fun to sit in the brand new Golf R for the first time. I can only say that even though the Golf R has not yet been revealed, there is a true sports car under the camouflage that the fans of the R brand can look forward to.”
In addition to its performance-oriented offerings, Volkswagen passenger cars, continue to offer and deliver popular models like the Polo, T-roc, and, Tiguan along with its all-electric vehicles family, as a part of its sustainability strategy.
