Volkswagen launched the Polo GTI in 2016 in India at a price of Rs 25.99 lakh,ex-showroom, Delhi.According to the report in Team-BHP, Now dealerships have slashed the price of the powerful hatchback and it’s available at a price of Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Also, we have confirmed from Volkswagen dealer that the prices of the Polo GTI have been reduced by 6 lakh.At the initial phase, the company offered only 99 units of the Polo GTI for the first batch of deliveries. The Polo GTI is powered by a 1.8-litre TSI engine that produces 189 hp of power and 250Nm of torque. The unit is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and the car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 7.2 seconds.On the front, the Polo GTI gets full LED headlamps with red inserts to add to the go-faster appeal, GTI honeycomb grille and GTI signature red colour stripes. In addition to this, it features 17-inch alloy wheels, dual chrome exhaust pipes and an integrated roof spoiler.In terms of safety, the hatchback gets features such as 6 airbags, ABS, Hill Hold and ESP (Electronic stability control). In addition, it gets cruise control, infotainment system compatible with USB and AUX.
Recently, Volkswagen revealed the sixth generation of Polo in Berlin and it will make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor show. The next generation has received major upgrades on the interior and at the exterior with three variants. In addition, the company will bring the more powerful version of Polo GTI, which is expected to get 2.0-litre TSI motor that churns out 197 hp of power. The engine will be mated to a five or six-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, start/ stop function as well as brake energy regeneration.
