Volkswagen will be launching the original hot hatchback the Golf GTI in India. A spy shot of the uncamouflaged India-spec Golf reveals the wait won’t be too long now. The car will enter the Indian market via the direct import route and Volkswagen will sell only 250 units.
Volkswagen Golf: Exteriors
Believe it or not, the Golf is a shade shorted than a mid-size SUV as it 4.2 metre in length. The spy shot reveals the hatchback’s side profile showcasing the 16-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, an angular silhouette, a roof spoiler, indicators on outside rear view mirrors and body coloured door handles. The front doors sport GTI badges and chrome tip exhaust.

Volkswagen Golf: Features
The Golf gets a dual-tone black-and-grey with a 12.9-inch infotainment system, wireless phone charger, USB-C ports with up to 45W charging, a 3-zone climate control, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats and multifunction steering wheel with push buttons and ambient lights. The all-black upholstery is made of 100% recycled polyester and recycled PET bottles.

Moving on to safety features, the Golf GTI will offer ADAS including adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, emergency assist, emergency brake assist, lane assist and automatic high or low beam.
Volkswagen Golf: Engine Specifications
The Golf GTI will be powered by a 2-litre turbo petrol engine with an output of 216 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. According to Volkswagen, the Golf GTI does 0 – 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 5.9 seconds.
