With Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra and Mahindra leading the SUV pack, the second runner-up position is going to be tightly fought between Hyundai and Tata Motors. The South Korean manufacturer is leaving no stone unturned for 2024 and will be launching a barrage of SUVs starting in January itself. The 2024 Creta facelift will officially debut in the first month of the new year. Here’s a look at what to expect from Hyundai in 2024.

Hyundai Creta facelift

Hyundai has already confirmed that the 2024 Creta will break cover on January 16, 2024. The mid-size segment SUV will sport a new muscular front grille, which is inspired by the Palisade. With a new split LED headlight cluster and vertically designed LED DRLs, the Creta has a bold road presence. The SUV will have a Level 2 ADAS suite, infotainment system and 360-degree camera. By scrapping the 1.4-litre turbo, the Creta could finally get the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol and will retain both the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre diesel powertrains.

Hyundai Creta EV

The Creta EV has been spotted testing in various occasions and now it will finally make its global debut in 2024. As the test vehicle looks identical to the current Creta, the EV version will receive similar design updates like its internal combustion version with some tweaks to differentiate it from the fuel-powered SUV. Even though Hyundai has not revealed any technical specifications, the EV could be powered by a 45-50kWh battery made by Hyundai’s global partner LG Chem. The battery could offer a range of 550km at a single charge.

Hyundai Alcazar

Like the Creta, Hyundai’s three-row SUV, the Alcazar, will also get a midlife facelift. The Alcazar made its debut in 2021. It is expected to receive an overall design change including the front grille, front and rear LED lights, bumpers and new alloy wheels. The Alcazar will retain the 1.5-litre turbo with an output of 157bhp and 253Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The tried-and-tested 114bhp 1.5-litre has 250Nm and gets an option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.

Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai globally unveiled the 2024 Tucson’s new front grille with sleek LED DRLs housed in it along with a three-pod vertical headlight. Hyundai has completely revamped the interiors as the Tucson sports a new dashboard with a new layout including a twin 10.25-inch infotainment and instrument cluster, centre console, new gear shifter and air condition vents. The Tucson will continue to be powered by the two 2-litre petrol and diesel engines. The former’s output is 154bhp and 192Nm which is mated to a 6-speed automatic. The diesel, on the other hand, churns out 183bhp and 416Nm and gets an 8-speed automatic. Only the diesel offers an all-wheel-drive system.
