U.S. President Donald Trump kept his promise and bought the Tesla Model S from Elon Musk right on the South Lawn of the White House. There was a twist in the plot that no one saw it coming. Instead of the president’s security convoy of all-black intimidating SUVs, the driveway was lined up with five gleaming Tesla vehicles offering the U.S. President a chance for a hands-on experience. Impressed by the red Model S, Tesla’s flagship vehicle, Trump decided to purchase it. It was a wow moment for the US President as he entered the cabin of the Model S and his first reaction was “beautiful”.
Seal of approval by US President
Tesla investors had a reason to cheer when Trump announced and bought the Model S at the White House driveway. Before buying the Tesla vehicle, Trump gave his backing to Musk and said, “I don’t like what’s happening to you” and called protestors “Radical Left Lunatics” for boycotting Tesla.
Sitting inside the Model S, Trump was in a jovial mood and said he “gave the Secret Service a heart attack” when spoke about the car’s acceleration capability from 0 – 60 miles per hour. Speaking to the media, the U.S. President said he will write a cheque for the Tesla Model S, which costs around $80,000 (around Rs 70 lakh) and leave it at the White House so that the staff can drive it.
