August has unleashed a plethora of newly launched vehicles in India, perfectly timed just before the festive season. Amidst a surge of new entries into the market, including SUVs, EVs, and two-wheelers, let’s explore the top five vehicles that have garnered the most searches on Google in the past week.

Skoda
The Czech Republic manufacturer has become the most trending brand in India’s automotive sector over the past week. Skoda has unveiled the name of its new sub-4-meter SUV, the Kylaq, marking the company’s entry into the compact SUV segment in the Indian market. The Kylaq is slated to debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025. This new SUV will feature a 1-litre turbo petrol engine, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter. The Kylaq will also offer standout features such as an ADAS safety suite, front ventilated seats, twin digital displays, and 6 airbags as standard.

Tata Curvv
Tata Curvv is the second trending vehicle. Tata Motors launched the all-electric version of the Coupe SUV and showcased the Curvv internal combustion engine models. The Curvv is the only made-in-India coupe EV SUV in the market and has two battery variants — 45 kWh and 55 kWh. The 55 kWh version delivers 166 bhp, while the 45 kWh produces 148 bhp. Both have the same torque output of 215 Nm. According to Tata Motors, the real-world driving range of the 45 kWh is 502 km and 585 km for 55 kWh. It is priced from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

Mahindra Thar Roxx
The Thar Roxx has been introduced with two drivetrain options: rear-wheel-drive and 4-wheel-drive. As of now, Mahindra has disclosed the prices for the RWD variants only, ranging from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 20.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The Thar Roxx offers a choice between a 2-litre petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, each available in two power variants. The base petrol engine delivers 159 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, while the higher-end version produces 174 bhp and 380 Nm.

The former pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission, and the latter with a 6-speed automatic torque converter. On the diesel front, the more economical variant generates 150 bhp and 330 Nm, available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The premium diesel model, which comes exclusively with an automatic transmission, offers 172 bhp and 370 Nm.
Citroen Basalt
The Basalt is the first made-in-India coupe SUV in the mid-size segment. It is available in three variants — You, Plus, and Max Turbo. The most affordable trim is priced at Rs 7.99 lakh, Plus at Rs 9.99 lakh, Plus Turbo from Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 12.79 lakh and Max turbo from Rs 12.28 lakh to Rs 13.83 lakh, ex-showroom.

Additional Rs 21,000 for a dual-tone paint scheme. The Basalt is available in two engines — the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.2-litre turbo. The former makes 81 bhp and 115 Nm and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The turbo petrol churns out 108 bhp and 190 Nm and is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter.
TVS Jupiter
TVS has introduced the latest iteration of the Jupiter 110, the second top-selling scooter in India after the Honda Activa. The Jupiter comes in four variants: Drum, Drum Alloy, Drum SXC, and Disc SXC. The Drum variant is priced at ₹73,700, Drum Alloy at ₹79,200, Drum SXC at ₹83,250, and Disc SXC at ₹87,250, all prices are ex-showroom.

This update includes new features such as an external front fuel flap, the largest under-seat storage capacity of 33 litres, and a Bluetooth-enabled smart digital instrument cluster that provides turn-by-turn navigation, voice assist, call and text alerts, vehicle locator, average fuel economy, distance to empty, and more.
