Top 5 Mahindra vehicles in April: Scorpio reigns supreme

Mahindra climbed to the second spot among automakers in April, driven by strong demand for the Scorpio and Thar.

April was a phenomenal month for Mahindra & Mahindra as it bulldozed its way to the second position, beating Tata Motors and Hyundai. Based on the retail figures released by FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations), the Indian automobile manufacturer sold 48,405 units last month, which is a remarkable 25.09% growth year-on-year. The company saw a 4.5% bump month-on-month as it registered 46,297 units in March. Coming to wholesale numbers, Mahindra sold 52,330 units in April, which is a 27.61% boost from April 2024 and 8.91% month-on-month, as 48,048 units were sold in March. 

Mahindra April sales break up

The king of the Mahindra mountain is the Scorpio N and Scorpio with a combined sales figure of 15,534 units. The Scorpio duo saw a massive 12% jump month-on-month as March registered 13,913 units. Year-on-year saw a decent 5% as Mahindra sold 14,807 units in April last year. 

The runners-up position goes to the dynamic duo, the Thar Roxx and the Thar OG, which clocked 10,703 units. Mahindra saw a 74% jump year-on-year. Last month, both the Thars 8,936 units, which the company saw a 20% growth. 

The Bolero was once the most successful SUV in the Indian market, and it continues to be in demand. The Bolero is available in two versions, standard and Bolero Neo. In April, the Bolero nameplate clocked 8,380 units, a 4% month-on-month growth as March sold 8,035 units. Year-on-year was a different story as it saw a dip of 12.13% as it registered 9,537 units in April 2024. 

The most affordable SUV in the Mahindra lineup, the 3X0, churns out a steady number as it managed 7,568 units last month. It saw an 89% jump year-on-year as it sold 4,003 units in April 2024. Coming to month-on-month, the 3X0 sold 7,055 units and saw a 7% growth. 

The final position goes to Mahindra’s ICE flagship model, the XUV7OO as it sold 6,811 units in April. Month-on-month, the XUV7OO clocked 6,851 units, which saw a marginal drop of -0.58%. Year-on-year figures were more positive as it sold 6,134 units in March 2025 and registered a growth of 11%.
