Kia recently unveiled the Syros last week which will go into sale early next year. It is the second subcompact SUV in the Korean carmaker’s lineup after Sonet and it is expected to bridge the gap between the latter and the more premium Seltos. Yet, Syros offers some very premium features that even Seltos doesn’t offer.

Here’s a top 5 features that are offered in the new Syros but not in Seltos.

1. 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display

Kia is offering a massive 30-inch display in Syros called the Trinity Panoramic which comprises two 12.3-inch displays for a central touchscreen infotainment and a TFT digital instrument panel, along with a third 5-inch touchscreen for climate control. Almost all functionalities can be controlled via this triple-screen layout. On the other hand, Seltos gets a smaller twin-screen setup with two 10.2-inch screens even with the top-spec X Line trim.

2. Reclining & Sliding rear seats

The Syros is the first in the subcompact SUV space to offer both reclining and sliding functionalities for the rear seats. This offers a superior rear seat experience thanks to the seat backrest with a very generous angle for a laid-back and relaxed experience. The rear seat base slides forward and backwards which allows the user a flexible boot space that can be adjusted between 390 litres and 465 litres.

3. Rear Ventilated Seats

Ventilated seats, earlier reserved for high-end premium cars in the country only, have gradually started to find themselves in the smaller car models now. In Syros, Kia not only offers ventilation for the front seats but also for the rear seats well. That said, the functionality of Syros’ rear ventilated seats is incomplete as ventilation is only for thighs and not backrest.

4. Flush-fitting door handles

Syros is the first Kia model to get flush-fitting door handles. These not only give the vehicle a more premium appeal but better aerodynamics as well.

5. Turbo petrol manual

The other advantage Syros gets over Seltos is that the former gets a proper 6-speed manual gearbox with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The Seltos does get a 6-speed iMT clutchless manual with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine but not a traditional manual transmission.
