With brands like Hyundai and Tata leading the charts in the past, Maruti Suzuki claimed the top spot in August 2024, with the Brezza leading not only SUV sales but overall car sales last month. Best-selling SUVs in August 2024
Leading SUV sales in August 2024 is the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, a vehicle not often found this far ahead in sales. In August 2024, Maruti Suzuki sold 19,190 units of the Brezza, witnessing a YoY growth of 32 percent. In comparison, Maruti Suzuki sold 14,572 units in August 2023.
Following the Brezza is the Hyundai Creta in second place, registering sales of 16,762 units and witnessing a YoY growth of 21 percent. Hyundai is having success with the Creta, especially after the refresh it received earlier this year.
In third is the Tata Punch, which was the best-selling vehicle a few months ago. In August 2024, Tata sold 15,643 units, registering 8 percent YoY growth. The Tata Punch’s optional powertrains play a crucial role in its sales as it is offered in petrol, CNG, and in pure electric versions.
The Mahindra Scorpio takes fourth place, having sold 13,787 units. The Scorpio has been a strong seller for Mahindra over the last few months, consistently registering positive sales and being on the upper half of the sales list. In fifth comes the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, one of the company’s newest offerings based on the Baleno. Maruti Suzuki sold 12,387 units of the Fronx in August 2024.
