The mid-size SUV space is the one of the best-selling segments in the Indian passenger vehicle market. With plenty of options to choose from, Indian car buyers have favoured putting their money on SUVs instead of traditional body styles like hatchbacks and sedans. Let us take a look at the top five best-selling mid-size SUVs from February 2024.

Hyundai Creta
After experiencing a brief lull, Hyundai Creta is back at the top of the chart for the mid-size SUV segment with a total sales volume of 15,276 units in February 2024. During the same previous year, the Korean carmaker sold 10,421 units of Creta which has led to a 47% YoY growth in February this month. The recent growth in sales of Creta can be attributed to the launch of Creta facelift which took place in January.

Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra Scorpio took the second place in the list with a total volume of 15,051 units sold last month. This number encompasses both the new-gen Scorpio N as well as the older Scorpio Classic. The Scorpio range registered a massive YoY growth of 117%. Going forward, Mahindra will also launch a pickup version of the Scorpio N by 2026.

Maruti Grand Vitara
Maruti Grand Vitara registered a monthly volume of 11,002 units in February this year as opposed to 9,183 units sold during the same period last year. This led to a 20% YoY growth. Maruti offers the Grand Vitara in two powertrain options– a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine.

Kia Seltos
Kia sold 6,265 units of Seltos in February this year which translated to a 22% YoY drop. Seltos received its last major upgrade in July 2023 in the form of a mid-cycle facelift. Seltos is currently priced between Rs 10.9 lakh and Rs 20.3 lakh (both ex-showroom). It is broadly categorised into three trim levels– Tech Line, GT Line, and X Line.

Toyota Hyryder
Toyota dispatched 5,601 units of Hyryder across the country last month. This led to a significant YoY growth of 69%. It is essentially the same car as Maruti Grand Vitara but with a completely different top hat and brand logo.
