Tesla has now switched to overdrive as it finalises an office space at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. This is the Elon Musk-led electric vehicle company’s third office in India after Pune and Bengaluru. According to Economic Times, Tesla has leased 30 seats in a co-working workplace in Phoenix Market City. The report further reveals that the monthly rent is Rs 3 lakh per month and the lease agreement is for one year with a three-month lock-in period.
Tesla showrooms in India
Tesla has already finalised the location of two showrooms in India. The flagship dealership is based in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. According to media reports, Tesla has secured a 4,000 sq ft commercial space and is committed to a monthly rental of around Rs 35 lakh (Rs 900 per sq ft) with a lease agreement of five years. The second showroom will be in Aerocity in Delhi.
Upcoming Tesla vehicles in India
Tesla is looking to introduce its affordable range, the Model 3 and Model Y, in India. There are reports that Tesla is working on a more budget-friendly Model Y. Currently, the Model 3 and Model Y have been spotted undergoing test runs in India. According to IANS report, the Elon Musk-led company has filed for homologation of Model 3 and Model Y.

In the global market, the Tesla Model 3 is available in variants like Standard Range Plus, Long Range, and Performance. It boasts an all-electric powertrain, offering up to 568 km of range, dual-motor all-wheel drive in higher trims, and impressive acceleration, with the Performance model hitting 0-100 kmph in 3.1 seconds.
The Model Y is available in two variants — Long Range and Performance. Both feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, offering up to 531 km of range. The Performance model stands out with a fast acceleration, going from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.5 seconds.
